With both trial and appellate experience, and with appearances in courts throughout Ontario, Matt has successfully represented clients in high stakes contractual disputes involving commercial and employment matters.
Matt’s experience includes trademark infringement, injunctive relief, shareholder and partnership disputes, as well as tort law in economic matters.
Matt is elected as a trustee for the Waterloo Region Law Association. His pro-bono work has gravitated around human rights and immigration - having helped refugees arrive and reunite with family in Canada, and having helped newcomers navigate other everyday legal challenges.
In 2014, Matt earned a masters degree in sociology, with a focus on critical race theory and immigration policy. Since earning his juris doctor in 2020, Matt has worked with clients that include high net-worth individuals, self-regulated professionals, commercial landlords, manufacturers, small businesses, and non-profit organizations.
